The hardest part for us when we decided to start our Great Strides team was picking a team name. I wanted to create a list to help others come up with team names, if you have any to add to this list feel free to comment and let me know.
We and most teams that I’ve seen start with the name of the Person the team is raising money for. You could do First Middle or Last Name, if you have multiple children in the case of Cystic Fibrosis that your Team is for then you have more starting words to work with. So write down the names of your Person or People first.
- If you have all boys or all girls you can do Last name Boys’ or Girls’ then one of the names below.
- Smith Boys’ Fighters
- You can also take the first letter of their names to make an acronym.
- Lacey, Scott, and Sam – The LSS Fighters
Then you can see how each name sounds with one of the following words. You may have to add an “s” to the name for some of these.
- ____ Fighters
- ____ Brigade
- ____ Warriors
- ____ Rally
- ____ Lucky Stars
- ____ Heroes
- ____ Angels
- ____ Avengers
- ____ Power – Walkers
- ____ Racers
- ____ Strutters
- ____ Walkamolies
- Miles for _____
- Team _____
- Breathe for ____
- ____ Legends
- Cure Finders for _____
- ____ Journey
- ____ Crew or Krew
- ____ Battalion
- ____ Krusaders or Crusaders
- ____ Super Heroes
- ____ Champions
- ____ Gladiators
- ____ Princesses
- ____ Followers
- Fighting For ____
- Racing for a Cure for ____
- ____ Ninjas
- ____ Agents
- ____ Patrol
- ____ People
- ____ vs. Cystic Fibrosis
- ____ Fight
- ____ Quest for a Cure
- A Cure for ____
Once you’ve got a team name you can set up your Great Strides team for your local walk, plus create a Facebook page/Group so your supporters can keep up with your journey. If you can get your friends or family to set up a branch of your team in their city then you can upgrade your team to a National team. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your local chapter, they are usually super helpful in fundraiser ideas, and team creation.
